Geri's Story
Mom had it, a passion for antiques and bargains. We never missed a shop along the roadside or tucked away in some little neighborhood. It seemed there were more “junk” shops back then than a person could visit. Raising my own kids, I realized she had instilled in me that need to stop and “just look around”.
After years of working and going to college, one day I suddenly found myself facing the inevitable changes that come with life. Change is either good or bad, depending on what you do with it. I was at a fork in the road and needed to decide which path suited me the best.
Getting out for some fresh air seemed the only reasonable thing to do. I wandered into one of the little antique shops on Main Street only to hear the shop owner crying on the phone to her customers that the shop was closing. The shop owner could not pay the bills. She did not know what she was going to do after the shop closed.
The lady closing the antique shop needed what I could give her — a business plan that worked. That is when I knew exactly what I must do.
My effort to help other people turn their business into their dream turned my business into my dream.
